SENASA, in collaboration with Better World Manufacturing Inc., utilizes the C&C Trap as part of its insect pest detection initiatives. Designed for versatility and ease of use, the C&C Trap is effective in controlling a wide range of insect pests across diverse agricultural environments.
Its compact design allows deployment in both large-scale and small-scale farming operations, helping SENASA reduce insect pest populations without the excessive use of chemical pesticides. This approach aligns with Argentina’s goals of sustainable and environmentally conscious agriculture.
C&C Trap
C&C (Cook and Cunningham) is comprised of three detachable panels. The outer panels, made of coated paperboard, are flanked by a central panel containing 10 g of trimedlure. Clips securely hold the entire unit together. The trap was specifically designed for the controlled release of trimedlure, allowing for precise amounts to be dispensed. It is also utilized for monitoring and detecting instances of minimal medfly populations. Depending on the prevailing environmental conditions, the lure within the trap can remain effective for an extended period, spanning several months.
